Processor support now includes: ARM Cortex-A9 Faraday FA526 and FA626 and FA5626TE Marvell Feroceon 88FR101 and 88FR111 (added to RVD, in addition to RVCT) Changes in the ARM Compiler include: support for Cortex-A9 and Cortex-R4F processors enhanced fromelf functionality enhanced callgraph functionality generation of images suitable for prelinking architecture-aware disassembly enhanced bit-banding support for the Cortex-M3 processor enhanced floating point performance for the Cortex-M1 processor enhanced code optimization Changes in RealView Debugger 4.0 include: Comms Channel Viewer that enables communication with the target over DCC debug configurations for RTSMs are configured using a separate "Real Time System Model (RTSM)" debug interface Changes in RealView ICE 3.3 include: extensible support for development platforms, initially including TI OMAP3 series, TI OMAP 1710, TI Davinci (TMS320DM355) and Motorola i.MX31 support for Serial Wire Output ability to debug and trace using USB on Linux Changes in ARM Profiler 2.0 include: Symbian application profiling Program instruction trace capture Profile capture at target speeds in excess of 350MHz Cycle-accurate profile capture at the same target speeds Live summary view during capture Statistics filtering at the call chain link level Stack depth tracking Additional model support: Cortex-R4 and Cortex-A9 Real Time System Models (RTSMs) Additional hardware support: ARM946E-S, ARM966E-S, ARM1156T2-S and Cortex-A8 Better tolerance for executing unknown code Better compatibility with gcc-generated code Changes in ARM Workbench IDE include: new ELF content viewer plug-in new IP-XACT to BCD exporter plug-in new armlink scatter file editor plug-in new source properties editor plug-in additional flash programming algorithms Improvements in the Examples include: A new Cortex-A9 version of the "Cached Dhrystone" example code, which comprises the standard Dhrystone code, plus additional routines to initialise the caches and MMU. The "Cached Dhrystone" example code for other processors is revised to run on latest software models and current real hardware, e.g. Versatile AB926, PB1176. New example Linux applications that demonstrate the interoperation between RVCT and the GNU toolchain and GNU libraries, for building applications and shared libraries to run on Linux. The revised Application Note 212 "Building Linux Applications Using RVCT 4.0 and the GNU Tools and Libraries" is also included. The "MMUgen" utility is updated to support the generation of MMU page table entries for ARM v6 and v7 cached cores, in addition to the v4 & v5 support of the previous version. The DCC examples have been updated for use on the latest processors Application Note 133 "Using VFP with RVDS", revised for the latest processors, is also included. |
